Physician Training Bridges Geroscience and Bedside Decisions

Tel Aviv University will run a 10-session postgraduate course in healthy longevity and healthspan medicine from November 2026 to March 2027, open to physicians of any specialty and to dentists. Directed by Professors Tzipi Strauss and Evelyne Bischof in collaboration with the Sheba Longevity Center, the curriculum moves from aging mechanisms to biomarker interpretation, organ-system assessment and case-based healthspan planning. The central pedagogical aim is distinguishing what can be measured from what is clinically actionable.

Key Points

  • Ten fortnightly sessions run November 2026 to March 2027, taught online.
  • Curriculum separates measurable biomarkers from clinically actionable interventions.
  • Faculty includes Barzilai, Bonnes, Furman; built on Sheba clinical experience.

Longevity Analysis

Aging clocks, multi-omics panels and continuous monitoring generate more signal than most clinicians are trained to interpret, and misreading that signal produces intervention where observation would serve better. A curriculum organized around cardiovascular function, metabolism, musculoskeletal integrity, sleep, endocrine regulation, immune aging and the microbiome treats these not as separate specialties but as interacting channels that must be read together before any protocol is built. The discipline being taught is restraint as much as action — knowing where the evidence ends, and holding a personalized plan steady long enough for physiology to respond.
