NYC Bodyworks is a manual therapy and wellness coaching practice in Manhattan serving artists, athletes, yogis, and business professionals. Susan Shockett, a licensed massage therapist with advanced training in structural integration and exercise physiology, provides customized bodywork combined with posture and movement exploration to address chronic strain, pain, and other health concerns. She also offers health consulting based on over 25 years of experience in integrative holistic health and lifestyle medicine.
Shockett's approach combines hands-on techniques ranging from deep tissue to subtle and gentle methods, informed by Western and Eastern massage therapy traditions, the Dr. Ida Rolf Method of Structural Integration, and other modalities. Her consulting work draws on evidence-based techniques and extensive knowledge of lifestyle medicine to help clients optimize their health, feel better longer, and improve their overall quality of life. She holds board certifications in structural integration, therapeutic massage, health and wellness coaching, and lifestyle medicine, along with credentials as a certified exercise physiologist.
